We’re proud to share that our undergraduate researcher, Geoffrey Sanderson, presented his work at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Spring 2025 Research Days. Geoffrey joined the SiRIUS Lab in January 2024 and has since become an integral member of our research team.
Supported by a $3,600 UCARE (Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience) grant from UNL, Geoffrey’s project focused on data-driven seismic functionality assessment of structural and non-structural components in instrumented buildings. His work was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Milad Roohi, and he has made a valuable contribution to the lab’s mission.
We’re also thrilled to announce that Geoffrey has also been awarded the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship in Canada to join the University of Victoria this summer to conduct research on Timber Structures. His upcoming work will help establish a new collaborative research link between UNL and UVic.
Huge congratulations to Geoffrey—your future in architectural engineering research is just getting started!
